ASOMANI, COSTA AND FONSECA MAKE PRESEASON LIST

Mustang junior Gabriel Costa was named to the College Soccer News preseason All-America first-team following a standout 2019 campaign.

In his first season on the Hilltop, Costa picked up All-America honors from United Soccer Coaches, Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News, he was also tabbed a first-team all-east region selection by United Soccer Coaches.

He was named the American Athletic Conference Co-Midfielder of the Year and selected to the AAC first-team and all-tournament team. Costa was twice named the league's offensive player of the week in 2019.

Junior Pedro Fonseca was named to the 2020 ACC Preseason Watch List, released on Tuesday as well.
 
The Brazilian forward battled injuries in 2019, but made his mark in the postseason for UofL. Fonseca tallied NCAA Tournament goals against South Florida and eventual-national champion Georgetown, in addition to assisting on the game-winning goal at UC Davis.

NC State men's soccer senior midfielder George Asomani was also named to the 2020 Atlantic Coast Conference Preseason Watch List. The Accra, Ghana, native played the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Monroe College before transferring to NC State. He was part of the 2019 recruiting class that was ranked as high as sixth nationally by TopDrawerSoccer.com. While with the Mustangs, Asomani was an NJCAA All-American in both 2017 and 2018, helping lead his teams to Regional and District titles during both of those seasons
