Both Isaac Bawa and Daniel Osei-tutu (teenagers the nonprofit spotted their talents at the free showcase we held) are turning heads at their new school. APU Men soccer is now ranked #1 in the country.

Sophomore Isaac Bawa was named PacWest Defender of the Week, and freshman Daniel Osei-tutu was selected as the Freshman of the Week, as the duo helped lead Azusa Pacific to a pair of wins in the Bay Area this past week. The Cougars' first defeated Academy of Art 6-0, and then closed out the trip with a 2-0 victory over Holy Names.

Bawa, last year's PacWest Defender of the Year, played 170 of the 180 minutes for the Cougars in the two matches. He anchored a defense that posted two shutouts and allowed just three shots on goal over the trip. Against Academy of Art, the Azusa Pacific defense only allowed one shot for the entire game.

Osei-tutu scored his first collegiate goal in the win over Academy of Art. The goal came in the 80thminute of the match, when he found the back of the net to put the Cougars up 5-0. Over the two matches, Osei-tutu took four shots, with three on goal. For the season, Osei-tutu has one goal and two assists.
